GROUNDWORK™ stabilizes the body's metabolism by supporting a healthy cellular environment. All organs at the cellular level are integrally connected in health. Stress, whether related to an infection, injury, allergies, toxins or cancer creates a disconnect between the cells within the organs. The integrity of the membrane surrounding the cell and the membranes surrounding the active metabolic units (organelles) within the cell is crucial for the health and life of that cell.
GROUNDWORK™ contains a blend of antioxidants capable of stabilizing cells at all levels. During normal metabolism, free radical formation can rapidly destabilize cellular metabolism. These free radicals must be quickly stabilized by antioxidants. Aging and chronic diseases can tip the balance in favour of the free radicals, allowing them to destabilize the cell membranes and their function. These stabilizing antioxidants function within the cell and the cell membranes. Oxidative damage can occur in all cells but certain tissues because of their function, are more prone.
GROUNDWORK™ provides a group of phytochemicals that support normal communication pathways among the cells by binding, blocking or stimulating receptor sites on the cell membranes. In order for cells to function as a unit in tissues, a means of communication among cells must exist. If the line of communication is disrupted or blocked, the cells may start functioning independently, die, or uncontrollably divide, thus compromising the health of the cell, the organ, and thus the body.
