CrossGel is a Utah-based company that was formed and chartered in 1997 to meet the interest and demand for affordable, high performance GELTEC medical cushioning products. GELTEC Chair Cushions are made from a unique composite material called FlexGel™. FlexGel™ is a honeycomb-like structure of interconnected cells made from a unique isoprene polymer. The elastic and strength properties of FlexGel (over 1,000 percent elongation and 500 psi tensile strength) configured into a geometric structure delivers superior pressure distribution away from bony prominences and other sensitive pressure points.
FlexGel allows weight to be distributed over a wider surface area among interconnected cells. The open cell column design dampens vibration, increases blood flow to skin cells and prevents heat build up.
